Good afternoon Matt

I have discussed your request for information with the Team and now strongly suggest that it be referred to Stats NZ as the information requested is more closely connected with the functions of that agency.

Stats NZ hold more reliable information than Customs on long and short term arrivals as this information is on the arrival card. Although Customs collects all arrival cards at our international airports, once the cards are balanced with the aircraft's passenger list, they are sent directly to Stats NZ for their statistical use. In addition, any information Customs provides will be caveated and not as accurate as NZ and AU passport holders don't require visas.

Details on how to request information from Stats NZ is readily available on their website: https://www.stats.govt.nz/about-us/offic...

Trust this assists.

Would you please advise having received this email.
