Dear Accident Compensation Corporation,
I refer to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (Read Code F286.).
Please confirm whether or not Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is considered a disability by ACC, leveraging these MoH guidelines[0]:
Severity of disability
A three-level classification of how severely people were affected by
disability. According to this definition people with:
• severe disability - receive, or need, daily help with activities such as
preparing meals, shopping, everyday housework, bathing or dressing
• moderate disability - use, or need, ‘some type of assistive device, aid or
equipment’ and/or help with certain heavier or more difficult household
tasks
• mild disability - have a disability but do not require regular help from
other people or technical aids
Again, in this request, I am seeking a simple confirmation whether or not CFS is considered a disability. This means a yes or a no to the following question:
"Does ACC consider Chronic Fatigue Syndrome a disability?"
