Dear Ministry of Health,
Could you please let me know if intended recipients of the current (or future) vaccine(s) are, or will be, informed that at the present time, these vaccines are still EXPERIMENTAL, that there is no guarantee that they won't get infected, or possibly transmit the infection to others.
I note that the leaflets currently available do not mention ANY of these issues.
Without this information, there can be no "informed consent". It is also incorrect (at the very least) to say these vaccines are "safe and effective". There have already been many deaths and other serious consequences resulting from these vaccines, around the world.

The link(s) you have sent me (which you have already sent in previous correspondence) do not give intended recipients the full facts, viz,
(1) that the vaccine does not guarantee that they will not be infected
(2) that the vaccine does not guarantee that they will not infect others
All the vaccine does is to reduce the severity of symptoms if they do happen to contract the infection.
This is NOT informed consent.
Please explain WHY you are withholding this information.

The Ministry of Health has provided you with information addressing your two previous requests.
The information provided in our joint response for H202100723 and H202102151 links to the publicly available information on the COVID-19 vaccine. The Ministry of Health has not withheld documents in this response.
There is no expectation or requirement that members of the public review the data sheet before being vaccinated. This information is available for the public in order to educate anyone that has concerns or is seeking further information about the vaccine. As we have outlined, in addition to the datasheet, Medsafe has also published consumer information and a letter to health professionals which can be found at the following link: www.medsafe.govt.nz/safety/DHCPLetters/C.... The Ministry is also providing comprehensive training to vaccinators to ensure they are able to respond to questions from people who are being vaccinated and provide the appropriate level of information to ensure informed consent.
The Ministry holds no further information in scope of your two previous requests for official information. Essentially your requests are requiring Medsafe or the Ministry to form an opinion or create information. The Act does not support these types of request. At this time the Ministry considers that these two requests for official information have been fulfilled as the information you have requested is available to the public.
