NZDF Vehicle disposal

Matt Zukowski made this Official Information request to New Zealand Defence Force

The request was successful.

From: Matt Zukowski

Dear New Zealand Defence Force,

I would like to know how NZDF disposes of vehicles no longer required or retired from service.

Of particular interest would be the intentions of NZDF in regard to the Pinzgauer fleet - are they being retired and if so, which civilian company is contracted to handle the disposal.

Yours faithfully,

Matt Zukowski

Dear New Zealand Defence Force,

Thank you for your answer regarding the Pingauer fleet.

Could you confirm if disposals of vehicles are done in bulk and released for tender through GETS, or do individual formations/units within NZDF have the ability to dispose of locally - if this is the case, is there a list of approved Civilian contractors that are used?

Thank you

Yours sincerely,

Matt Zukowski

Good afternoon Matt,

Disposals of military vehicles are usually done in bulk and may be made available for tender via GETS.
