Location of Art and Books

K Roe (Account suspended) made this Official Information request to University of Auckland

The request was successful.

From: K Roe (Account suspended)

Dear University of Auckland,

I have two requests.

GRAY'S ANATOMY (textbook not tv drama related)

I once heard a University of Auckland librarian say that the University was donated an entire collection of the editions of Gray's anatomy. Up until the founding of the Medical School, I would suppose. I wondered what sense to make of this and I realised it has a function in accountability / psychopathy signalling.

I am now wanting to know the location of those books for purposes of public accountabilty of a public resource. There should be a list of all the Editions from the 1st up until the present day.

1a) Which editions are currently available to students because they are located on the shelves? (I am not interested in online only access)

1b) Which editions are held behind the front desk such that a librarian needs to choose to fetch them?

1c) Which editions are held in 'off site storage' such that a librarian needs to put in a request for someone else to fetch them?

1d) Which have been sold?

1e) Which have simply vanished (no record of them in the system anymore and not able to be located on request).

Perhaps this request could be put to John Morrow in his capacity as head of library? Or maybe he isn't head of library after all?

2) ART

I am interested in the whereabouts of the photographs that have been removed from the wall at the top of the first flight of stairs from the lower level of Grafton to the first floor where the library is located.

There was a series of photographs depicting a woman in standing posture poses. She was being observed by a man. The entire situation was being observed by a photographer who was taking the photos. There may have been a shaddow of him visable in the picture too -- I don't remember. The picture was blurry so the identity of the individuals was obscured.

In some of the pictures the woman had been beheaded.

2a) I am interested to know the origin of the photographs. The name of the artist and the name of who donated the work to the Univerity and the name of the individual (acting in what capacity) when the pictures were ordered to be hung on the wall of the Medical School.

2b) I am interested to know the whereabouts of the photographs now. They vanished around the same time McCutcheon was transitioning out. I am wondering who instructed for the pictures to be taken down and the present location of the pictures (whether it be storage, someone's private dungeon / collection, or whether they were destroyed).

Kelly Roe.

Yours faithfully,

K Roe

Subject: Official Information request - Location of Art and Books

Dear University of Auckland,

I have two requests.

GRAY'S ANATOMY (textbook not tv drama related)

I once heard a University of Auckland librarian say that the University
was donated an entire collection of the editions of Gray's anatomy. Up
until the founding of the Medical School, I would suppose. I wondered what

of library? Or maybe he isn't head of library after all?

2) ART
