Dear Deesha,

I refer to your request of 21 January 2021 for information concerning
admission to the University’s MBChB programme. The University’s response
follows:

“Please provide the following information for domestic applicants of the
MBChB program relative to 2021 admissions:”

“General Category
(1) Number of General seats available in 2021”
120 (domestic)

“(3) Number of General applicants (number of FY and number of graduates)”

Distinct domestic applicants (GENERAL category only) as at 12/10/2020 =
FY: 399   Grad: 282

“(9) Interview core GPA cut-off (FY and graduate)”

Gen-FY (7.2) - Note that the cut off for Gen-FY is the composite grade
including the CST grades.

Gen-Grad (7.7) – Note For the GRADs we have two GPA’s used (in progress
and completed Grads). In this case 7.7. is the lower of the two.
“Interview GPA cut-offs for Graduate applicants differ for those who have
all their grades at the time of interview shortlisting, and those who have
yet to complete their programmes of study. Here the numbers are the lower
of the two.”

The other information requested does not exist yet, as the admissions
process is still in progress. Your requests 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11
are refused under section 18(g) of the Official Information Act 1982. You
have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied
with this response.

Yours sincerely,

Rebecca Ewert

Dear Deesha,

The Official Information Act only applies to information that exists at
the time of the request, not information that will be created at some
point in the future. If you wish to request the information specified in
parts 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, and 11, you should submit a new request after
