Dear Accident Compensation Corporation,
There is significant debate around if fireworks should be banned or not.
I feel that a important part of that debate should be the cost of accidents related to fireworks.
Under OIA I request:
1. Total number ACC claims related to fireworks.
2. Total cost per claim in question #1
For the purpose of this OIA can you give data for accidents that happened from 1st November 2020 through to 9th November 2020.
Due to people often lodging claims some time after the fact, I am happy if you don’t “start the clock” on this OIA until end of November so that I can get more relevant data.
