Access to ANZ Takapuna (Lake Road) CCTV footage

Earl Pantaleon made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport

The request was refused by Auckland Transport.

From: Earl Pantaleon

Dear Auckland Transport,

Access to ANZ Takapuna (Lake Road) CCTV footage on the 11th of October (Sunday) at around 10:30 am - 12:45 pm.

Our car (Nissan Qashqai 2015 - Silver #JZW241) was parked on BNZ's lot and a 'red' car has damage our side passenger door. They have not left a note or anything to be identified.

Upon contacting BNZ, unfortunately, they don't have a CCTV facing that lot. But ANZ does. Tried keeping in touch with them to hopefully take a screenshot of the car's make and model or even the face of the driver that had damaged our car for insurance claim's purposes - but requested for me to do a police request/clearance to do so.

However, upon contacting/emailing the police they have given me this link to do the request.

If you could advise, that would be great.

Yours faithfully,
Earl Pantaleon

Good morning Earl,

We are unable to provide you with the information you asked for

On 27 October 2020 you asked for CCTV footage for 11 October around
10.30am on Lake Road, Takapuna. I'm sorry to hear that your car was
damaged.

Unfortunately, there is no CCTV footage as the footage is over-written
every five to seven days. We are therefore refusing your request under
section 17(e) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 (LGOIMA) as the footage does not exist.

We understand that this isn’t the outcome you hoped for.

You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review how we’ve responded to
your official information request. You can contact the Ombudsman at
[1]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

Kind regards
