From: Paul Roberts
Dear Ministry of Health,
This request is made under the Official Information Act.
Concerning the following article https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/1209124...
It reports that Stephen Tindall underwrote the purchase of 50 New Zealand made ventilators at a cost of $60,000 each. It further states, "I said to the agent, place the order, and you have got my word I will pay for them, if the Government doesn't,"
Secondly the article also states 7 plane loads of PPE gear was coming.
Would you please clarify;
1) Did the Government pay for the 50 ventilators?
2) Did the Government purchase all or a portion of the PPE gear shipped in by the philanthropists mentioned in the article?
3) If the answer is "yes" to questions (1) or (2), then please provide details as to the amounts paid and other information that can be disclosed about these transactions.
Yours faithfully,
