Number of priority/non-priority SMC/RFW had CO assigned over the last weeks

Anatoliy Goryachev made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Anatoliy Goryachev

Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,

My name is Anatoliy and I've been residing in New Zealand for past three years. Currently in Auckland.

Please help me to get answers on couple requests regarding Skilled Migrants Category / Residence From Work (thereafter SMC/RFW) applications backlog. As you aware, currently all residence applications are divided into two streams: priority (those earning double median wage and with occupational registration) and non-priority (the rest):

1) In a recent interview with Indian Weekender (interview held on 28 June 2020) Hon Iain Lees-Galloway stated that both residence streams are moving. I think a lot of applicants would love to know the pace of this movement. Therefore, could you please share the numbers on how many residence applications were allocated to case officers (separately for priority and non-priority queue) for each of the below-mentioned weeks:

1 June - 7 June 2020
8 June - 14 June 2020
15 June - 21 June 2020
22 June - 28 June 2020;

2) I also would love to know the lodgement date for the oldest application from the non-priority queue;

3) Also please share if Immigration New Zealand have any plans on resuming EOI for the SMC/RFW streams in a foreseeable future.

Appreciate your time.

Yours faithfully,
Anatoliy Goryachev
