SMC and WTR programme application Delays and priority

Kuljinder Singh made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Kuljinder Singh to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Kuljinder Singh

Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,

Greeting for the day.

My question relates to Immigration.

I would like to know, Against how many application from non priority category are allocating to Case officers against priority applications.

Have goverment or INZ made any set process to allocate appications Such as Priority appications Vis-a-vis non Priority applications?

If so, then what is that?

If not, then on what basis applications are getting allocated?

Also, I would like to have an update on date of submission of Last SMC file which was allocated to Case officer from both Priority and Non- Priority Que's.

The total number of Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) residence applications that currently in queue waiting for a case officer?

How many SMC applications are with Case officers?

How many case officers working on SMC files?

Thanks for considering my request and giving me your valuble time.

Yours faithfully,

Kuljinder Singh

The table shows that immigration is now allocating from the non-priority queue, however, the oldest unallocated application still seems to be submitted on 18 December 2018. Why is that the case? Is it because this applicant is offshore (as immigration is currently only processing onshore applications)? Or is it because the applications that have been allocated to case officers from the non-priority queue are being processed through the employer escalation scheme?

As at 14 July 2020, the oldest application in the non-priority queue is 20th of December 2018. This information is from an INZ technical advisor.
