    Dear Ministry of Health,
Over the past three years:
a) How many Maori women (and what percentage of the total number of applicants) applied for Tier 2 roles or above?
b) How many Maori women (and what percentage of the total number of successful applicants) were successfully appointed to the jobs which they applied for at Tier 2 or above?
This question is being asked of all public sector departments.

      From: Tania Te Whenua

    Dear Ministry of Health,
Thank you for your undated letter received 22 May 2020. The letter is unclear as to the number (and percentage) of wahine Maori who were successfully appointed to the jobs that they applied for at tier 2 or above over the past three years.
Although you refer to your website for your executive team I cannot determine from the information therein when each was appointed.
Also, the information provided by the external recruiters does not cover successful appointments and does not give a date range.
Can you provide the date range for the external recruiters charts, and clarify the number (and percentage) of wahine Maori who were successfully appointed to the jobs which they applied for at tier 2 or above over the past three years please.
Yours faithfully,
Tania Te Whenua

    Kia ora Ms Te Whenua
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the
 Act) to the Ministry of Health (the Ministry) received on 25 May 2020 for:
"Thank you for your undated letter received 22 May 2020. The letter is

We are unable to provide you "the number (and percentage) of wahine Maori
 who were successfully appointed to the jobs that they applied for at tier
 2 or above over the past three years" as the Ministry does not hold this
 information.
The only permanent recruitment to Tier 2 roles over the previous three
 years was undertaken in 2018. The last Tier 2 appointment was made in
 early 2019 as part of the previous year’s recruitment. As noted in our
 earlier response, this was supported by an external agency.
Roles that the external agency recruited for were:
* Deputy Director-General (DDG) Corporate Services
 * DDG Mental Health
 * DDG Maori Health
 * DDG Population Health
 * DDG Health System Improvement
 * DDG Disability
 * DDG DHB Performance, Support and Infrastructure
 * DDG Data and Digital
 * DDG Health Workforce
 * And the the Chief Nursing Officer role
We released to you the information that the agency has been able to
 provide that might be of interest to you. We are sorry that we are unable
 to more helpful at this time.
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to
 review any decisions made under this request.
Thank you for taking the time to write to the Ministry.
