Dear Mr Neilson

Thank you for your email request dated 6 December 2019 in which you asked
for the following:

·         ‘All correspondence between the Chief Executive of Housing New
Zealand and the Chief Executive of MSD regarding the Social Housing Reform
Programme between 2014 and 2017.

·         All correspondence between the Chief Executive of Housing New
Zealand and Hon Bill English regarding the Social Housing Reform Programme
between 2014 and 2017.

·         This may take the form of emails, papers, reports, memo etc.’

The Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) requires that Kāinga Ora –
Homes and Communities advise you of our decision on your request no later
than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our
decision, under section 15(1)(b) of the Act because ‘consultations
necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a proper
response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit’.

Accordingly, you can expect a response by 24 February 2020.  You have the
right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at
[1]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by calling freephone 0800 802 602.
