I refer to your request for Official Information, dated 4 December, for
our organisation chart and information on dealings with China.

 

As requested please find attached Callaghan Innovation’s organisational
chart. Our CE and Executive Leaders (Tier 2 managers) are named, but we
cannot release the names of others for privacy reasons (withheld under
Section 9(2)(a) of the Official Information Act 1982).

 

Callaghan Innovation does not have a department or particular position
with a primary focus on China.  Over the years, we have had a number of
engagements with China, which we believe are in scope of your request.

Visit To Callaghan Innovation by Chinese Counsel-General Madame Xu (27
January 2017)

-Chinese Counsel-General for Auckland region, Madame Xu visited Callaghan
Innovation and met with the General Manager of Research and Technical
Services to discuss our technological capabilities and how we are involved
within the NZ technological ecosystem.

Manufacturing Trek to China 2016 (13-17 June 2016)
-5 day trek in Southern China to learn about the manufacturing options
available and to build connections with potential partners.

Tripartite Economic Summit Auckland 2016 (16-17 May 2016)

-Callaghan Innovation designated as Principal partner of the Tripartite
Economic Summit

-Expense $50,000

 

Visit to Callaghan Innovation by Yangzhou Delegation (11 August 2015)

China workshop on Innovation and Commercialisation collaboration (April
2015)
-A workshop was hosted by Callaghan Innovation on 20 April 2015 as part of
the New Zealand-China Joint Commission Meeting on Science and Technology
Co-operation (JCM).

-Callaghan Innovation hosted two representatives from the TORCH High
Technology Industry Development Centre in Beijing.
