Air New Zealand Environment Trust
Craig Morley made this Official Information request to Minister of Transport
The request was refused by Minister of Transport.
From: Craig Morley
Dear Minister of Transport,
I would like to know of all the flights that MP's take (of all the political parties), how many of them actually pay something towards the Air New Zealand Environment Trust (or if they do not contribute to this trust when they fly, do they contribute towards another conservation or sustainability programme)? That is, I would like to know how many flights each MP may make and of these flights how many times do they donate to the Air NZ Environment Trust (or to other programmes)?
Further, would it be possible to get a breakdown of how much they may donate each time they fly as they can either decline this option or make contributions of $5 $20 $50 $100? It would be interesting to see who is and who is not making any contributions and how regular this payment might be whenever they fly with Air New Zealand.
Further, could this be broken down into when they travel for work and when they travel privately, as some pay donate towards this when they work (and this could come out of their travel expenses) but they do not donate when they travel privately.
As many MP's have staff that accompany them when they travel, can I also please get the same details (i.e. numbers of staff, number of flights and amounts contributed) for their direct staff who may accompany their MP's when working.
The reason I ask is that I wish to know if our MP's are a)supporting the Air New Zealand Environment Trust and B) are they, as our representatives, willing contributors to conservation and environmental research projects within New Zealand whenever they travel.
Yours faithfully,
Craig Morley
