It has been shown that Air travel is a large contribution to global climate change.
I am keen to get measurements or numbers to show what government is doing about this.
Under OIA I request:
1. Total number of airline tickets purchased in 18/19 financial year.
2. Breakdown by domestic vs international.
3. Any internal plans to reduce airline travel.
4. Job titles of the top 5 travellers.
5. Any other information that would help the public understand the departments use of airline travel.

Can you please clarify the following:
Would I be correct in assuming by 'ticket' they mean a sector, which is a
one way journey, ie a return trip is typically 2 sectors, however could be
3 sectors if there is a connecting flight.
The 5 top travellers, is this the top 5 domestic travellers or the top 5
travellers in general across all flight markets (domestic and
international).

It would be interesting to know what data Tandem does collate for the Ministry, so they know how they are performing in terms of reducing air travel (3). Expenditure seems to be a measure, going by the annual 10% reduction target.
In terms of assessing carbon emissions, knowing the total distance of air travel taken by Ministry staff would be key.
