Dear Mr Ho

We refer to your request for information dated 20 June 2019. Your questions are:

Question 1 - I hereby request a copy of the CAA’s sustainability report if there is one and if not why not?

Answer : There is no requirement for crown entities to prepare a sustainability report and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) does not hold one and accordingly, this part of your request is declined, (ref - section 18 (e) of the Official Information Act).

Despite not having a report, the CAA is making incremental improvement's through implementing initiatives where it can make a difference.

2. Is there any sustainability initiatives? If not why not?

Answer: please refer to enclosed PDF, a document recording the CAA’s sustainability initiatives.

3. Is there any sustainability outcomes for the CAA, if not

Answer: please refer to PDF attached to answer above.

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
