Sexual Dimorphism Confusion.
C Montague made this Official Information request to Office of the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor
The request was successful.
From: C Montague
Dear Office of the Prime Minister’s Chief Science Advisor,
I would like to request a copy of your social media policy.
I would also like to view any emails relating to the Births, Deaths, Marriages and Relationships Registrations Bill (sent from 1 January 2018 on) or 'one step sex self-declaration'.
I understand the Chief Science Advisor views human beings as not sexually dimorphic. Is this a view the Office of the Chief Science Advisor holds? If so, could you please provide copies of the scientific papers which inform that view.
For the purposes of your work and analysis, do you have a definition of females and males? If so, could you please provide a copy of that definition.
I would like to see copies of all emails between the Office of the Chief Science Advisor, or the Chief Science Advisor herself, and opinion writer Siouxsie Wiles.
Thank you very much,
C Montague

One more annotation. Claire Ainsworth, the journalist of the article referred to in the response to this OIA request has stated that she believes that there are only two sexes. Male and Female.

And I see from her Twitter profile that she does have a PhD in developmental biology which the Nature article did not indicate.

I see that the request for scientific papers justifying the Chief Science Advisor's views on sex and gender cannot be substantiated except by reference to one lone article in Nature written by a freelance journalist with no qualifications in the area. This seems very poor. Is it maybe because there's no scientific articles that back up the view of the Chief Science Advisor of New Zealand?
After the methamphetamine scandal under the previous Science Advisor maybe the problem is that the Chief Science Advisor seems to be subject to the political office of the day.
Maybe it's time to make the office an independent one.
