1. Can you please advise the date when the announcement of C-130H(NZ) Hercules Replacement component of the Future Air Mobility Capability Project will be made.

2. Can you please advise the dates that the Hercules replacement tender acceptance has been submitted to Cabinet for approval.

3. Can you please advise the reasons for the continual delays of the Hercules replacement by Cabinet, given that the case for approval of the preferred tender was submitted to the previous Cabinet and hence the current Cabinet approximately two years ago.

Dear Otene Wharerau,
Thank you for your reply.

Can you please inform me when it is intended to submit the Project to Cabinet then, given that this has been ongoing for a number of years and the C-130H(NZ) are nearing their end of serviceable life.

They are not something that can be replaced in a matter of weeks or months. This is a capability that will take at least two years to achieve Full Operational Capability (FOC) after the first replacement platform is delivered, depending upon the delivery schedule. It could be two or three years between ordering and the delivery of the first aircraft, so you are looking at four to five years before achieving FOC and how many C-130H(NZ)'s will still be safe to operate then?
