Road side drug testing infringements

Katy B made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Katy B to read recent responses and update the status.

From: Katy B

Tēnā koe,

I am very interested in the roadside drug testing that has been rolled out in Wellington. I note a release today stating that seven infringement notices have been issued.

I request, under the Official Information Act 1982:

- A breakdown on whether the seven infringements announced on 20/2/26 were due to a positive drug result or refusal of a drug test

- If positive, a breakdown on which substances led to an infringement

- How many, if any, infringements had a medical defence

- Any comments on how rolling out standardised roadside drug testing may unfairly disadvantage medicinal cannabis users.

I really appreciate all of your important mahi and look forward to your response.

Ngā mihi nui,

Katy B
