Value of Crown mining royalties

Dear Department of Conservation,

I am requesting under the OIA information regarding the proposal (announced on 22nd March 2010) to remove 7,058 hectares of land from Schedule Four of the Crown Minerals Act. Specifically, I would like:

1) Estimates of the value of royalties from expected mining operations in the affected area.

2) Estimates of the net revenue impact of the proposal.

3) Correspondence within the department about the availability of cost estimates for this proposal.

4) Correspondence between the department and the Minister of Conservation about the availability of cost estimates for this proposal.
