Public Service Commission
Good morning Ms Harris
I refer to your request for information regarding the recent submission by
the Commissioner to the Law Commission’s paper, “The public’s right to
know”.
I understand that you have made similar requests to other agencies. You
may therefore be aware that the Law Commission is planning on making all
submissions publicly available shortly. However, as your request also
included background material relating to that submission, such as emails,
we will attend to your request in accordance with SSCs obligations under
the OIA as soon as possible.
You will appreciate that compliance with the OIA involves considerable use
of resources across the state sector. We therefore ask requesters to let
us know as soon as possible if they no longer require information sought,
in order that we do not expend valuable resources unnecessarily.

Dear State Services Commission,
Thanks. At the time I made the request, the Law Commission had a less cooperative attitude, and was refusing to provide submissions or threatening charges. I'm glad they've changed their mind, and obviously you can now refuse that part of the request under s18(d).
I am however still interested in the background information, if any.
Yours faithfully,
Alex Harris
Public Service Commission
