This is a request under the Official Information Act.
Please send me copies of all documents created since 1 July 2011, including (but not limited to) advice to ministers and inter-departmental consultations, which consider whether the New Zealand government should apply to join the Open Government Partnership.
I would prefer to receive these in electronic format in the form of a reply to the email address from which this request was sent.
If the volume of material falling within the scope of this request is such that the Ministry may consider the application of section 18(f) to the request, please contact me to discuss narrowing the scope of the request.

Dear Mr Ecclestone,
On 28 November you requested, under the Official Information Act, all
documents created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade since 1
July 2011 which consider whether the New Zealand government should apply
to join the Open Government Partnership.
Attached is an internal note regarding the considering the process for
participation in the Open Government Partnership. Some elements of the
note are unable to be released under section 6(a) of the Official
Information Act; I have indicated all such elements by marking 6(a) in the
right hand margin. This is the only document that meets the criteria of
your request.
To date no decision has been made on participation in the Open Government
Partnership.

The Australian Attorney-General has just disclosed similar material relating to Australian government consideration of whether or not to apply to join the OGP. This was via the new Australian version of FYI, called www.righttoknow.org.au
