Dear Minister for Sports and Recreation,
According to documents filed with the Charities Commission, in 2009,2010 and 2011, Sanitarium (Seventh Day Adventist Church in New Zealand, AKA, Australasian Health Conference) had income of $1.614m, $1.915m and $581,225 which is listed as being from Government Grants and Contracts.
1/ Was any of this money from the Minister of Sport & Recreation?
2/ If so, How much?
3/If not, please advise, to the best of the Minister's knowledge, which department was responsible for the grants or contracts.
4/ What was the purpose of the Grant(s) from the ministry?
5/ Did the ministry perform any checks or audits on the expenditure of any such funds, and what was the outcome?
6/ Please provide correspondence including emails and letters and any notes or minutes from meetings in relation to the ministry’s decision to make any such grants to Sanitarium.
