Refusal to sign Local Govt Leaders' Climate Change Declaration

I note that you have not signed the Local Government Leaders' Climate Change Declaration. Furthermore, an article on the Stuff website today claims that you have "expressed firm opposition".

Would you please provide the wording of your response to the invitation to sign.

Nice to hear from you again.  MDC simply declined to sign the declaration,
so our response was in the form of ‘Thank you for your invitation but
Manawatu District Council will not be signing’.

 

The “expressed firm opposition” is the opinion of the reporter
