Dear Mr Hoffman,

Thank you for your Official Information Act (1982) request, which we received on the 3 March 2019. You requested:

"...can you please clarify the largest organizational budget you were responsible for prior to being an MP?"

Information that is held in any other capacity, such as Leader of the New Zealand Labour Party, as a Member of Parliament or as a private individual, is not official information and falls outside the scope of the Official Information Act 1982.

Accordingly, your request does not meet the requirements as a request for official information.

You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under section 28(3) of the Act.
