On behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment I
acknowledge your email of 10 January 2019 requesting under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:

 

·        I would like to know how Immigration New Zealand investigate
anonymous tips (e.g. people breaching visa conditions, provided false and
misleading information to INZ etc) received. Can you please attached any
guideline or training materials provided to INZ's investigation team. What
is your procedure after you have received the tips and how long it usually
take for you to make conclusions. 

 

·        Also, can you please provided the number of anonymous tips you
have received and the number of investigation result from the tips you
have received between 2015 to now.

 

Please note that the days from 25 December 2018 to 15 January 2019
(inclusive) are defined as non- working days in the Act and are not
counted in the calculation for the response due date. This will affect the
time period for responding to your request.
