I write on behalf of Hon Chris Penk regarding your OIA request,
particularly Part 5:

 

5) All information about Candace Owens you or INZ received from 3rd
parties outside government.

 

This Part of your request, as it stands now, may encompass a wide array of
items that will require substantial efforts to not only prepare, but
identify. Doing so will significantly disrupt the regular duties of this
office, and as such may entail a refusal under section 18(f) of the Act.

 

To support an accurate and fulsome response, I ask that you please refine
you request to specific 3^rd parties you wish to get information on. In
saying this, I can assure you that the remainder of your request is now
being processed.

2) All information received by you or INZ about Candace Owens from those
representing or assisting her with her request for a special direction
that she be granted a visa;

 

3) All information provided to INZ or you from Candace Owens or her
representatives;

 

4) All information about Candace Owens received by you or INZ from other
NZ government departments;

 

5) All information about Candace Owens you or INZ received from 3rd
parties outside government.

 

Under section 16 of the OIA my preference is to receive the whole of any
document which contains information within the scope of this request.
Under the same section my preference is to receive the information in a
text-searchable format.

 

Under section 19(a)(ii) I further request that if you decide to withhold
any information, you also provide an explanation of the grounds in support
of your reason(s) for withholding, and the public interest factors
favouring disclosure that you considered.

 

We wish to notify you that we have partially transferred parts 2, 3, 4 and
5, as it relates to items held by INZ, to Immigration New Zealand under
section 14(b)(ii) of the Act.

 

Please be assured that the remainder of your request, including parts 2-5
as it relates to the Ministerial office, will be responded to in due
course.

 

Immigration New Zealand have the usual time limits upon receipt of this

Parts 2-5 of your request has been transferred to the Ministry of
Business, Innovation and Employment from the Office of Hon Chris Penk on
19 December 2024 and is being processed in accordance with the Official
Information Act 1982. A response will be sent to you in due course. 

 
Please note that the days from 25 December 2024 to 15 January 2025
(inclusive) are defined as non-working days in the Act and are not counted
in the calculation for the response due date. This will affect the time
period for responding to your request.
 
We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible, and no
later than 10/02/2025, being 20 working days after the day your request
was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will
notify you of an extension of that timeframe. If you have any enquiries
