I believe that you will be entitled to more information if we process this
request as a Privacy Act Request (as this information relates to
yourself). I have considered your request pursuant to the Privacy Act
1993.

However please note that in accordance with police policy I am unable to
release any information until you provide some identification.
This requirement is set out on the police website at the following link:
[1]  https://forms.police.govt.nz/privacyactr... .  The specifics of
what we require are as follows:

Evidence of identity

To make a request for personal information to Police, you will usually
need to  provide two forms of evidence of identity (one must be
photographic)  for sighting and photographic comparison - either in person
by Police, or endorsed with a statement by a trusted referee*.

The trusted referee's written statement should indicate that he or she has
sighted and signed the two identity documents and compared the
photographic image with you and confirms they appear to be the same
person. The trusted referee must provide name and contact details.

*A trusted referee must be over 16, not your partner or spouse or related
to you or your extended family, and not live at your address. It is
preferable for the trusted referee to have known you for at least 12
months or be a person of standing in the community (e.g. registered
professional, religious or community leader).

The two easiest ways of providing such identification are:

o Scanning and emailing your two forms of ID to
[2][email address]
or
o Taking your IDs into any police station and asking the person at
reception to email the above email address stating they have seen your
ID

Please let me know with some urgency, which Act you would like this
request to be considered under.
Kind regards,
Jen Blackwood
