Charitable Donations 2000-2017 in total and of those requesting a tax credit

GD Green made this Official Information request to Inland Revenue Department

This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for GD Green to read recent responses and update the status.

From: GD Green

Dear Inland Revenue Department,

Please supply the following information under the Official Information Act (OIA):
1. Number of donations made by individual taxpayers (not corporate) to IRD recognised charities in the past 5 years, and
a. The number of individual taxpayers who subsequently requested tax credits for their donations to the donee organisations.
2. The amount in dollars of the donations made by individual taxpayers to IRD recognised charities in the past 5 years, and
a. The amount in dollars approved as tax credits to these individuals.
3. The number of tax credits requested organised by amounts donated, i.e. $1- $25, $26-$50, $51-$100, $101-$150 (increments of $50) or a data file I can sort out myself.

Noted: It’s possible for a tax payer to file for a tax credit within 4 years of the donation, hence donations and subsequent tax credits requested / approved may be difficult to match year-by-year? If this is true, please let me know?

Yours faithfully,

GD Green
