Meetings with Education Sector Groups: Previous Ministers of Education
Matthew Hooton made this Official Information request to Ministry of Education
The request was refused by Ministry of Education.
From: Matthew Hooton
Dear Ministry of Education.
My request concerns briefing notes and other records of meetings that the Ministry holds of meetings between previous Ministers of Education and various education sector groups during the first 252 days of the relevant minister's tenure (or, if the relevant minister served less than 252 days, all the meetings held by the minister).
The ministers of interest to me are:
* Hon. Nikki Kaye
* Hon. Hekia Parata
* Hon. Anne Tolley
* Hon. Chris Carter
* Hon. Steve Maharey
* Rt Hon. Trevor Mallard
* Hon. Nick Smith
* Hon. Wyatt Creech
* Rt Hon. Sir Lockwood Smith
* Hon. Phil Goff
* Rt Hon. Sir Geoffrey Palmer
* Rt Hon. David Lange
The sector groups of interest to me are:
* School Trustees Association (STA)
* Secondary Principals Association of New Zealand (SPANZ)
* PPTA Secondary Principals Council
* New Zealand Principals Federation (NZPF)
* PPTA
* NZEI
By meetings I mean those with representatives in the relevant minister's office in Wellington or at the group's offices or official events (such as an annual or regional conference). This includes meetings both with and without officials present.
For each meeting, please provide simply the date - or if that is unknown, just the month - that the meeting occurred.
Please note I fully understand that for the earlier-serving ministers, there may need to be a delay in your response, but please respond separately and as soon as reasonably practicable for the more recent ministers.
Please also note that I fully understand the information you provide may necessarily be incomplete as it is possible the relevant minister may have met with the relevant groups without the ministry being aware at the time or having retained a record.
To assist you in the speed of your response, please note I am not requesting information on which individuals were present or what was discussed at each meeting.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Matthew Hooton
