New Zealand Royal Honours
john luke made this Official Information request to Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet
The request was successful.
From: john luke
Dear Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet,
I understand the following from your website, "With the exception of New Zealand Defence Force personnel, all nominees on the shortlist are asked by the Official Secretary to the Governor-General, whether the proposal to include their name in an honours list is acceptable before The Queen formally approves an honour."- https://www.dpmc.govt.nz/our-programmes/...
that nominees on the shortlist are asked if they will accept the honour or not, I would like to understand generally during what period of the time, nominees will be ask to accept the honnor piror to the list to become public on the occasion of the New Year (30/31 December), the New Zealand observance of The Queen's Birthday (first Monday in June).
Also, I would like to know generally when the shortlist will be decided by the Cabinet's Honours Committee. If possible, can you please let me know the date/time that the shortlist has been decided for the past 5 year.
Yours faithfully,
John Luke
