Dear New Zealand Qualifications Authority,
Under the Official Information Act 1982, could you please confirm the penalties that would be imposed on an international student who;
- routinely submitted written work as his own, when in fact, many of the submissions were the work of third party essay writing services.
- attained a Bachelor of Business Studies and passed several additional papers towards a Masters Degree, both resultant to this cheating.
The student claimed that the compulsory papers for his qualification had relatively low external exam pass requirements (if any) which made the use of third party writers an ideal means of grade optimisation for him.

We have sample evidence showing at least ten payments (at a very significant cost) were made to a single essay writing service over an 11 week period.

The request relates to a student/students who initially received degree/s from a mainstream university and then studied Masters papers at an Auckland Business School.
The use of essay writing services by the student/s extended across both tertiary providers.
