Hospital bed occupancy rates

Antony Andrews made this Official Information request to Nelson Marlborough District Health Board

The request was successful.

From: Antony Andrews

Dear Nelson Marlborough District Health Board,

Tēnā koutou,

Please find below my Official information request under the Official Information Act 1982:

1. Bed occupancy rates at the public hospital/hospitals from July 2007 to June 2016. Please note that I would like monthly data on this. However, if monthly data is not available, please specify the reason.

2. If monthly data is unavailable, the next preference will be quarterly data, if quarterly is not available then I will accept half-yearly. Furthermore, as last resort yearly data.

3. I am also willing to accept data on bed occupancy rates at random intervals within a year.

Not crucial, but if you can also include the method used to calculate bed-occupancy rates by your DHB will be great.

Ngā mihi,

Antony Andrews

Dear Antony

Official information request regarding hospital bed occupancy rates

I refer to your official information request received by Nelson Marlborough DHB on 16 January 2018.

The Official Information Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time of an additional 15 working days to make our decision, to 7 March 2018.

This extension is necessary because your request necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonable interfere with our operations.

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable.

You have the right to seek an investigation by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.

Best Regards
Maree
