Dear Ministry of Education,
I am a parent of a child who attends Remarkables Primary School. I have been advised by the School and Board of Trustees that a Scoping Report written by the Limited Statutory Manager appointed to the school will be submitted to the Ministry of Education in Jan/Feb 2018. Please see the letter dated 22 November copied below.
To all Parents, Staff, Caregivers and Whanau
Following yesterday’s message regarding the appointment of an LSM in the school we have received a number of queries. Thank you for your concern.
The appointment of an LSM was a voluntary and unanimous decision by the Board. A decision was made by the Board to seek outside assistance, as we required specialised support. The Ministry supported our request for assistance through Madeleine's appointment to allow us to access appropriate resource and skills to assist the Board.
While Madeleine will be carrying out the employment function, the Board maintains all other Board functions.
The Board and Madeleine will be working together to provide the best possible outcomes for the school. We are still there for our community as we have always been. We will endeavour to keep you informed as appropriate. Please forward any specific enquiries relating to Madeleine's appointment to Madeleine directly in the first instance.
Thank you for your support in this matter and in the meantime, please be assured that the school’s day to day operation is not affected by Madeleine’s appointment.
Remarkables Primary School is a high performing school and student learning remains the Board's focus.
