Projections of emergency housing costs
Matthew Whitehead made this Official Information request to Ministry of Social Development
The request was successful.
      From: Matthew Whitehead

    Dear Ministry of Social Development,
I would like to request the answers to two questions under the OIA. I am a New Zealand citizen, and will confirm so if necessary. Recently, the Deputy Prime Minister made statements that she "had no idea" that emergency housing costs were likely to reach $50million this year. My questions relate to this statement and are as follows:
1) Was the Minister (or any other Government member) informed at any time that emergency housing costs could reach $50million for this year?
2) What figures, if any, did the ministry provide estimating the anticipated cost of emergency housing, and when were they provided? Please include any revised estimates.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Matthew Whitehead.
