Fire Control Expenditure 2015/16
Alan Thompson made this Official Information request to Department of Conservation
The request was successful.
From: Alan Thompson
Director General
Department of Conservation,
Dear Sir,
In an email exchange early March 2016 we agreed that the Department would provide me a breakdown of the money spent on fire control in the 2015/16 year. This request resulted from the DoC annual report as tabled to Parliament recording expenditure of just over $900,000 for the year. This compared to a figures of around $12m reported for previous years.
Your advice was that DoC had changed the way it was reporting and that the "fire control" spend was actually $10.9m for 2015/16. You undertook to have your Office assist me with a breakdown of the $10.9m and the entities/amounts to whom DoC granted money for fire control.
A month on and several further requests to your Office has not resulted in this information as we agreed.
I now formally request this information as outlined above under the provisions of the Official Information Act.
I look forward to your early response.
Yours faithfully,
Alan Thompson
