For each of the financial years 2013-14; 2014–15 and 2015–16, broken down by:

2. Gender (M /F /Other)

How many people transferred within 6 months from a student allowance or from receiving student loan living costs onto:
• Supported Living Payments (SLP)
• Job Seeker Support – Health Condition or Disability (JS – HCD)
• Disability Allowance
Question 2:
For each benefit type above, of these people, how many continued to receive the applicable benefit after 6 months, 12 months and 2.5 years?
Question 3:
What is the average lifetime liability cost for such individuals?
In addition to the above, for each of the same three financial years, broken down by the same geographies:
Question 4:
How many clients (by the same age groups) have been paid on the Intern programme and how much in total per financial year has been paid.
Question 5:
How many employers, and how much has been paid / reimbursed to those employers, for Mainstream clients (1 year and 2 year).

This letter is to advise you that the Ministry has received your request,
however requires more time to respond to this request. In accordance with
section 15(1) and 15A of the Official Information Act, the Ministry’s
response will be with you no later than 16 March 2017.
The reason for the extension is that your request is for a large quantity
of information and it will take longer than the 20 working day time limit
to collate the material you have requested and assess whether any interest
might be prejudiced by its release.

Your request for as at 2.5 years is refused under section 18(f) of the Act
as in order to provide this information, the Ministry would need to divert
personnel from their core duties and allocate extra time to complete this
task. The diversion of these resources would impair the Ministry’s ability
to continue standard operations and would be an inefficient use of the
Ministry’s resources. The greater public interest is in the effective and
efficient administration of the public service.
3. What is the average lifetime liability cost for such individuals?
The Ministry has decided to grant your request. However, the 2015/16 year
since valuation is not available yet. You will be provided with the
2013/14 and 2014/15 years.
· In addition to the above, for each of the same three financial
years, broken down by the same geographies:
4. How many clients (by the same age groups) have been paid on the
Intern programme and how much in total per financial year has been paid.
[This request was clarified and you advised you wanted to receive the
number of Mainstream Interns as well as the number of people in the
Mainstream Employment Programme]
The Ministry has decided to provide the number of interns broken down by
age group and gender, though please note that a large amount of this
breakdown results in low numbers which will be suppressed in accordance
with section 9(2)(a) of the Act to protect the privacy of natural persons.
The Ministry can also provide the number of Mainstream Employment
Programme placements. However, the demographic information is not readily
available and the Ministry does not collect geographical data for this
information and as such, the request for this demographic breakdown is
refused under section 18(g), information not held, and section 18(f) of
the Act, requires substantial collation.
5. How many employers, and how much has been paid / reimbursed to those
employers, for Mainstream clients [This request was clarified and you
advised you wanted to receive the number of Mainstream Intern employers as
well as the number Mainstream Employment Programme employers]
