Dear Ministry of Justice,

I am writing to request any documents in your possession produced since 2013 related to the risk of re-identification of private individuals' data, especially documents related to the creation of an offence punishing illegitimate re-identification attempts.

The Privacy Commissioner has advocated incorporating such an offence in the Privacy Act since at least 2014, and I imagine that your ministry must have compiled and created studies, reports, memos, correspondence and other documents addressing related issues. I am asking you to please release these documents pursuant to the Official Information Act.
