Mr Big technique in the Kamal Reddy case
Steve hall made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
The request was successful.
From: Steve hall
Dear New Zealand Police,
I refer to the Kamal Reddy case, where the "Mr Big" Technique was used to gain a confession.
http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/3...
Firstly congratulations, on a successful outcome to the hard work put in by NZ police.
Secondly, Could you please tell me the total amount of money paid to Mr Reddy for ALL setup/fake jobs he carried out during this process, such as the quoted section below from the radionz.co.nz link
"During the operation undercover police posed as members of a criminal organisation. They befriended Reddy and offered him a trial period, doing odd-jobs for small amounts of money, collecting debts and picking up stolen property"
Is this money written off as part of gaining a confession or is there steps to recover this ?
I would like to request the following information under the Official Information Act 1982:
with respect to Section 12(1) of the OIA I am a New Zealand Citizen who is in New Zealand
Thank you,
Yours faithfully,
Steve Hall
