I would like to request under the Official Information Act some
information relating to asylum seekers. I would like to request:
1) The number of asylum seekers currently being held in prison.
2) The age/gender/nationality of asylum seekers currently being held in prison.
3) The length of time each asylum seeker has been held in prison and what prison they are located in.
4) The number of asylum seekers currently being held in detention (not living in the community freely).
5) The age/gender/nationality of asylum seekers currently being held in detention.
6) The length of time each asylum seeker has been held in detention and where they are located.
7) The stated reason(s) for each asylum seeker being held in prison/detention.
8) The number of asylum seeker applications for 2015, listed by country and approved/declined decision.

Dear Sarah Baird,
Thank you for the information provided thus far. I do question though how the answer to the questions about the length of time each asylum seeker has been held in prison and detention is matter of privacy. I believe it is a matter of public interest to how long asylum seekers are held in prison or detention because of the effects to mental and physical health.
Could you please confirm
a)The length of time each asylum seeker has been held in prison since 2011
b) The length of time each asylum seeker has been held in detention since 2011
c) What number of people are deported after being in prison and detention since 2011
