Dear New Zealand Fire Service Commission,
Can you please provide the following over
1. The number of fires in industrial storage buildings (e.g. typically storing over or having a roof height greater than 5-6m ). In particualr, I am in interested in warehouses and similar buildings
2. The number of fires in industrial storage buildings where fire spread to other property or across title boundaries to another building. If the information is available, also the number of fires in industrial buildings that spread to other buildings on the same site.
3. The age of the buildings that were the primary fire source.
4. The number of these buildings that had sprinkler systems installed, and if known, the age or type of system. If this is not known, then I can use the age of the building as an indicator.
5. The number of fires in sprinklered industrial buildings that spread to other property. Separate the information by fire spread to a building on the same site, or if it was on another title.
4. If known, the activation area of the sprinkler system (or number of heads operating) in each case.
As the dataset is going to be small (or zero) for sprinkler buildings, I would appreciate the longest time slice that you have information available. The data in an excel or CSV file would be useful.
