From: Mark Buttimore
Hauraki District Council

In response to your e-mail dated 5 February 2016 in relation to the sale of the Paeroa racecourse we advise as follows:

The racecourse was owned privately by the Barbara Anderson Trust.

The Council was not involved in the sale of the racecourse property to the new owner.

The real estate transaction was handled between the Vendor, Bayley's Commercial and the Purchaser.

The Council first became involved after the sale and purchase agreement was signed. The Purchaser requested a meeting with Council staff to discuss planning and infrastructure matters such as possible re-zoning of the land, stormwater collection and disposal etc.

Two such meetings were held on 19 August 2015 and 28 August 2015. These were informal meetings and no minutes were kept.

As Council was not a party to the sale and purchase of this property there could be no conflicts of interest in this matter.
