Dear Tauranga City Council,
Under the Official Information Act, can you please advise how many complaints were made regarding the noise levels emanating from the Bay Dream Concert held at the ASB Park Stadium on 2 January 2016, what the dBel readings were, what actions were taken by the Tauranga City Council and whether the following council policy as per your website was followed, and why the noise was not curtailed for over 9 hours, and if police were involved and if not why not:
If noise is deemed to be excessive the enforcement officer will issue an excessive noise direction. This notice requires the noise to be reduced immediately and is effective for a period of 72 hours. If further complaints are received and the noise level has not been reduced within the 72 hour period after an excessive noise direction has been issued, an enforcement officer, accompanied by a police officer, can enter the premises and remove whatever is making the noise, or render it inoperable
I shall be making an official complaint to the city council regarding this and require the information to support this.
