Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request:
1. All briefings, correspondence, and records of discussion
provided to or involving the Minister or his staff that
reference UNDRIP, Article 13.2, Chapter 13, or the United
Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in
the context of the India-New Zealand FTA, from the
commencement of negotiations (March 2025) to the date of
the first reading (25 June 2026).
2. The date on which the Minister or his office first became
aware that the India FTA contained an affirmation of UNDRIP
in Article 13.2.
3. Any correspondence between the Minister's office and MFAT,
the Trade Minister's office, or the Prime Minister's office
regarding the UNDRIP clause after its inclusion became
public knowledge.
