Dear New Zealand Defence Force,

1) For each of the past five years, how many individuals of each rank and speciality have received permission to leave the Armed Forces (s2 Defence Act 1990) before their term of appointment, engagement or enlistment had ended?

2) Of those identified in 1), what was the reason for granting permission, by rank and speciality?
