Thank you for your recent reply- Our reference: OIA2-26 662
1. I noted, "In addition, NHC supports Commissioners to meet the Government’s expectations for good governance by providing professional development opportunities. These may include online education sessions and other activities, such as attending conferences. NHC covers the associated costs, including travel, accommodation, registration fees, and meals."
Could you please provide a list of all courses, training programmes, conferences, and other professional development activities attended by Commissioners over the past three years? For each activity, please include the associated costs, such as registration fees, travel, accommodation, meals, and any other expenses covered by NHC.
2. I noted" NHC provides them with specialist software to support secure access to Board papers and to receive training."
Please provide the name of the specialist software installed on Commissioners' individual laptops, the associated purchase and licensing costs, and details of any ongoing subscription or maintenance fees.
3. I noted "We provide Commissioners with access cards for NHC’s sites to enable them to attend Board meetings; these are not ID cards."
Could you please provide a copy or sample of the Commissioner access card to illustrate their design and appearance? Any personal information may be redacted as necessary.

Thank you for your request of 24 June 2026 for information under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA).
The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received it, this being 23
July 2026. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time
limit, and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the
time to make our decision, to 13 August 2026.
This extension is made under section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA, as the request
necessitates consultations with other parties, such that a decision cannot
reasonably be made within the original time limit.
Despite this extension, we will provide you with our response as soon as
possible.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review this
decision. The Office of the Ombudsman can be contacted through the website
