Dear Ministry of Health,

On 11 August 2020, I asked the Ministry of Health to provide me with copies of the latest government and in particular Ministry of Health produced information available on the right to choose not to be immunised against Covid-19 and how this would fit with the apparent decision to immunise the population (of New Zealand). The Ministry's reference number for that request is: H202006028.

Part of the Ministry of Health's response letter dated 26 August 2020 advised me; "No immunisations in New Zealand are compulsory and there are no plans to make a potential Covid-19 vaccination compulsory." However, the Ministry for Covid-19 subsequently mandated under the Covid-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Amendment Order (No 3) 2021 that from 25 October 2021 certain categories of workers had to be vaccinated in order to keep their jobs.

The words "compulsory" and "mandated" are synonyms and interchangeable. While there are subtle nuances in these words relative to their context and usage - compulsory emphasizes the required nature of the action itself, while mandated emphasizes the official authority ordering it - it is irrefutable that millions of New Zealanders had their rights protected under Section 11 of the Bill of Rights Act ("Right to refuse to undergo medical treatment") and Section 10 of the Bill of Rights Act ("Right not to be subject to medical or scientific experimentation") breached and violated as a consequence of the abovementioned, mandated, vaccination order.

I am requesting all information internally produced and externally obtained by the Ministry of Health on the subject of Covid-19 mandated vaccinations in New Zealand.
