This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for Christine Woods to read a recent response and update the status.
From: Christine Woods
Dear Whangarei District Council,
In a previous request for information, you advised that "Contractors are also required to keep spray records covering a wide range of information such as date, location, time, what is applied, weather conditions etc."
In that regard can you please provide the spray records for the Matapouri Road, Kaiatea Road and Te Toira Road for the period 1 April 2025 to 1 May 2026.
Yours faithfully,
Christine Woods
From: LGOIMA - official information requests
Whangarei District Council
Kia ora Christine
Thank you for your request received 14 May 2026 regarding spray records
for the Matapouri Road, Kaiatea Road and Te Toira Road for the period of
1 April 2025 to 1 May 2026.
The current wording of your request covers a large geographical area, in
that sense, it raises issues for us in terms of the significant staff time
and resources that would be required to retrieve, collate, and review the
information sought, and provides you with additional information that may
not be specifically related to your area of interest.
For this reason, please consider how you can refine your request. Helpful
ways of doing this include specifying the area of Matapouri Road which is
of most interest to you. For example, this could be from 2413 Matapouri
Road to 1355 Matapouri Road or to provide us with context to the topic of
interest to you.
Please respond with clarifying guidance on or before the 29^th of May so
that staff can prepare your response within statutory timeframes.
Refining your request can help avoid a charge being imposed under our fees
and charges schedule: [1]Official information fees and charges - Whangarei
District Council (wdc.govt.nz) or potentially a refusal of your request on
administrative grounds.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your response.
Nga mihi,
Andy

Dear LGOIMA - official information requests,
The specific spray records that I am after is for the roadside spraying of the drains and berms carried out on behalf of the roading division of Council. To give you a coverage area - I suggest the Matapouri Road once it leaves Matapouri settlement heading north to the first one lane bridge after the Kaiatea Road turn off (approx 10km), then Kaiatea Road and Te Toira Road. I believe this occurs 3-4 times a year. A large truck with a boom is used so there should be one spray record for each day of spraying as this one truck covers a considerable area. In that respect there should only be 3-4 spray sheets needed. The keeping of these records is a requirement on the Council contractors therefore it should not be an onerous task on staff and the information easily available to Council. I hope this helps. Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
Christine Woods
