Thank you for your Official Information Act request dated 8 May 2026.
Please find the requested information below for Southern Health School.
• Board members are paid meeting fees in accordance with the Ministry of
Education School Board Member Fees framework. Current meeting fees are
$210 for board members and $265 for the Presiding Member/Board Chair for
meetings of up to two hours. Withholding tax is deducted from these
payments.
• Board members may claim reimbursement for actual and reasonable expenses
incurred while undertaking approved board duties, including travel and
parking costs, in accordance with school policy and Ministry guidelines.
• Other payments may include approved reimbursements relating to
governance duties and professional development associated with board
responsibilities.
• Information relating to total board remuneration for the 2025 financial
year is currently contained within the school’s draft 2025 Annual
Financial Statements, which are presently undergoing external audit and
have not yet been formally adopted by the Board or submitted to the
Ministry of Education. As the audit process is not yet complete, the
figures remain subject to change.
The audited financial statements are required to be submitted to the
Ministry of Education by 31 May 2026 and will become publicly available
following completion of that process.
